In true high variance style the best action in Gods or Rock comes in the free spins round where progressive multipliers are unleashed without any re-set between spins and the whole event can re-trigger by filling the bonus meter.

Dropping Symbols

You might know this as Cascading Wins. After any winning spin, winning icons are removed from the reels and new ones drop in to replace them. More wins may occur and the process repeats until no more winlines are formed.

Reel Multipliers and Charged Wilds

Alongside the standard Wild in Gods of Rock is the Charged Wild which has explosive qualities!

Landing the Charged Wild will increase the Reel Multiplier on its corresponding reel by 1x. The multiplier can keep increasing up to a maximum of an 11x. If you hit more than one Charged Wild, the Multipliers are multiplied together. This means a 2x, 2x and 2x would create a total Multiplier of 8x. All multiplier re-set between spins until you hit the bonus round.

After the Charged Wild has boosted the Reel Multiplier, it explodes to destroy all symbols surrounding it, causing a new Cascade of symbols, then drops down its reel to become a regular Wild. The number of symbols removed by the explosion is counted on the Meter which is displayed to the side of the reels. Now, if 30 symbols are removed, the Wild Encore Feature is triggered.

Wild Encore Feature

The Wild Encore Feature is activated when 30 symbols are removed by the Charged Wild. When this happens, 1 to 3 new Charged Wilds are added to the reels at the end of the latest series of drops. These new Charged Wilds destroy more symbols, launch a new Cascade and charge up the Bonus Meter further.

Then … if 55 symbols are destroyed, the Free Spins round will be activated.

When the Wild Encore Feature causes 55 symbols to be removed by the Charged Wild, you’ll trigger 8 Free Spins, a round that includes any Multipliers won during the main game. During the free spins, if the Bonus Meter is filled it will then reset and an extra 3 Free Spins to your total.

The Final Verdict

Gods of Rock is an imaginative slot that combines a weird mix of mythology and ancient gods with a classic rock concert setting. In their usual style, Thunderkick have taken a well-trodden path and sprinkled their own magic dust over it to create something no one else could have thought of! Remember how everyone else’s Raging Rhino games became Pink Elephants in their hands? Well it’s something like that!

And as far as features go, the action is pretty impressive too. In particular it seems that Thunderkick have been taking some inspiration from the mighty No Limit City, utilising an exploding Charged Wild in the same way that xBombs cause mayhem on the reels in slots like Evil Goblins xBomb. The best part though is the Reel Multipliers, which can combine in a massive way when two or more are active and potentially result in some spectacular rewards, especially at higher betting levels and in the free spins round.
